Czech for Foreigners

LINGUA BOHEMICA, founded in 1995, is a private institution specialized in teaching Czech to foreigners.

We organize classes for individuals and for companies in the form of individual lessons, group courses and intensive courses. Intensive courses are offered for the duration of one week, two weeks, one month, one weekend, or summer courses, conversation courses and preparation courses for the CCE (Czech Certificate Exam). We also offer lessons via Skype. We teach Czech classes for translators of the institutes of the European Union, for students of Czech language and literature and for foreign students who have Czech parents.

Lingua Bohemica also offers classes in other foreign languages. Furthermore, we are pleased to provide translation services and the correction of Czech texts.

Lessons at Lingua Bohemica are lively, interactive, and effective.

The main focus of our classes is on the development of communicative abilities applicable to common situations, and on understanding both oral and written texts.

Course content is tailored to the wishes and needs of our clients.

We prefer direct teaching methods and therefore do not teach in a third language. If the use of a third language is required, our teachers can teach in Czech in English, German, French, Russian, and Spanish.

Our teachers are university qualifed. They have not only studied the language which they teach; they also have extensive knowledge of the variety of teaching methods they employ. Our teachers are friendly, patient, and adaptable.

Our classes are suitable for a wide range of people. Some of our students live in the Czech Republic and require the language in their every day lives at work (i.e. managers, diplotmats). Others are foreign students of Bohemian language and literatures. For still others, Czech has simply become a hobby. Some of our students enjoy returning to Prague often, in order to take part in our courses. Our students also include translators and interpreters at institutions of the European Union.
